The Snapchat Story downloader finds the current public Story connected to a username, Profile URL or supported public link. A Story can include several videos and photos. The result keeps those items separate so you can inspect their order, file type, format and dimensions before saving anything.
Current Stories are different from Highlights. A Story can expire, while a Highlight is a separately saved collection that may remain on a public Profile. Downloading a Story therefore depends on what is public at the moment you search. The tool cannot recreate an item after it expires or after the owner removes it.
You can save a public Story posted by another person or publisher when it is available through a supported link. Saving your own Snaps, a private chat attachment or Memories is different: use Snapchat's own saving controls for those. This downloader does not connect to your account or make a backup of its contents.
How to download a public Snapchat Story
Use the public username, Profile URL or supported share link before the Story expires. A username begins with the public Profile; a direct link can identify the intended public page more precisely.
Open the preview to check which item you need before selecting it. A Story can mix videos and photos, so choosing Select all may include both. For just a few clips, tick those items individually and check the selected count before choosing Download selected.

- Which Snapchat links can I use?
- Enter a public username, Profile URL, supported share link, Highlight link or Spotlight link. Some publisher Story links containing /p/ are also supported. Results may include public videos, photos and profile pictures, depending on what Snapchat currently makes available.
- Do I need to sign in to Snapchat?
- No. The tool works with public data and does not ask for Snapchat account credentials. It cannot use this access to open private content.
- Can it recover private, deleted or expired media?
- No. If an item is not publicly available, the tool cannot recover it. Private, removed and expired media remains unavailable.
- Does the tool change quality or remove watermarks?
- The tool does not add or remove watermarks, sharpen photos or increase video resolution. Existing marks remain. Most files download directly; some supported videos are first prepared as an MP4 in your browser. Preparing an MP4 does not create a higher-quality version.
- How do multiple downloads work?
- Selected items are saved as separate files, not a ZIP. Your browser may ask you to allow multiple downloads. Videos that need preparation use temporary browser memory before saving; the site does not keep a hosted media archive. Check your browser's download list for saved files.
- May I reuse the downloaded media?
- Only when you have permission and a lawful reason to do so. Public availability does not transfer ownership or reuse rights.
- Can I download a Story after it expires?
- Only if the same media is still available through another supported public page. The tool cannot recover an expired item on its own.
- Does a shared publisher Story link download the whole Story?
- Not necessarily. Some public publisher links containing /p/ return one video that needs preparation in your browser before saving. Do not treat that result as every item in the publisher's Story or as the Profile's current Story. Check the preview and item count before downloading.
- Can the Story downloader save private or friends-only Stories?
- No. It only works with Story media that is publicly available for the submitted username or link. A public Profile does not grant access to a private Story, chat Snap or friends-only item.
- Will the downloaded Story be HD, 4K or watermark-free?
- The file keeps its available quality and any marks already included in it. The tool does not upscale a video to HD or 4K, remove an embedded watermark or add a new site watermark.
- What is the difference between a Story downloader and Story viewer?
- Both use the same tool to find and preview a public Story. Watching an item does not save it to your device; selecting Download does. Use the Story Viewer guide if you only want to watch, or follow the steps here to save individual or selected files.
Story quality, empty results and saved Highlights
The result may show MP4 for a video or JPG for an image, together with available dimensions or duration. Some details may be missing even when the file works. Most Story files can be saved directly. If a supported video needs MP4 preparation, keep the page open until it is ready. Preparing that file does not combine the other Story items into it or improve its picture quality.
An empty Story tab is not always an error. The public Profile may have no current Story, or its items may have expired between sharing and searching. If you meant a saved collection that still appears on the Profile, open Highlights instead. Choose the collection and select Open collection to see its videos and photos.
